In the community, for the community

Newport Baptist Church is located in a bustling market town, of around 15000 inhabitants in the borough of Telford and Wrekin. The town has grown significantly over the past few years mainly from residential development and plans are in progress for further development. We seek to be at the centre of the community in Newport offering ourselves and our extended premises for the glory of God.

Other organisations using the building are:

  • Christian Aid First Friday Lunch
  • History Society,
  • Photographic Club,
  • Weight Watchers.
  • 1st Newport Girl Guides
  • NHS Health visitors

We are a loving environment for people of different ages, backgrounds, cultures and nationalities. The church members, plus many others who attend, including groups of students from Harper Adams Agriculture University Christian Union, enjoy our events and meetings. The church is a member of the Baptist Union of Great Britian. It is run by general consensus of its members who meet at least once a quarter to discuss, pray and decide policy and important business matters. Day to day running of the church is administered by the Pastor and Deacons.
